Signing in safely
Signing in
- Open the Pulse address your hotel gave you in a web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari).
- Type your User name and Password.
- Click Sign in.

If you work at more than one hotel of a group, Pulse then asks you to choose a property. You can change it later with Switch next to the property name at the top of every page.
Your first password
Your administrator gives you a temporary password. The first time you use it, Pulse asks you to change password: type the temporary one, then your new password twice. It must have at least 10 characters, with letters and numbers.
Two-step sign-in
Two-step sign-in adds a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator). The code changes every 30 seconds. It is required for administrators, general managers, owners, the financial controller, payroll staff and anyone else with powerful permissions; everyone else may turn it on under My work → Two-step sign-in.
When you set it up, Pulse shows ten recovery codes. Write them down and keep them away from your phone: each one lets you in once if you lose the phone. If you lose your phone and your recovery codes, only your administrator can reset two-step sign-in for you.
When Pulse signs you out
- After 30 minutes without typing or clicking, Pulse goes back to the Sign in page.
- Every sign-in ends after 10 hours at most.
- Five wrong passwords or codes in a row lock your account for 15 minutes.
(These are the standard settings; your hotel may have changed them.)
Signing out
At the end of your shift, and whenever you leave a shared computer, click Sign out in the top bar and confirm.
Never share your password. Everything done in Pulse is recorded against the name that signed in. If someone uses your sign-in, their mistakes are recorded as yours.
On your own computer you may tick Remember this browser for 30 days after the two-step code. Never tick it on a shared front-desk or outlet computer.
Try it in the practice hotel
The practice hotel is a real Pulse with the demonstration hotel in it. Sign in to borrow a trainee sign-in and try this lesson's task.
